The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is the universal format for structured documents and data on the Web. XML enables data to be created and kept in one place and be accessed by many different sources. Web-based applications can then be created to utilize this data to automate business processes and reduce overhead.
Some examples of XML applications that BWE has developed are:
- Credit Bureau Reports
The application parses XML data returned from the three main credit bureaus to provide instant credit check results. The retrieved data can be utilized in many ways. In this particular application, the returned credit score is used to pre-qualify home loan applicants. By automating the credit reporting process, the XML application significantly reduced our client's cost and loan approval response time.
- Property Profile Reports/Estimated Property Value
This application retrieves property data and recent comparison sales data in XML format from a national database. The data is then used to automatically generated a detailed property profile report including estimated value, comparison property summary and detailed property location maps.
- Order Import/Export
This application allows clients to import orders and retrieve order status and results from remote locations. Because all data is transmitted in XML the application is compatible with a large number of hardware and software platforms.
- Flood Certificates
This application retrieves flood zone data for a target property in XML format from a national database. The data is then used to automatically generate Flood Certificates.
